***FRIGGIN-A!! I finally made top 10!!***
8. Adolphus Ladder:8 Melee:0 Games:255 Wins:152 Deaths:30 Elo:1725
Won't last long, but as of May 28, 2005, I'm actually top 10!!
(Sorry to those who spend all their time there, but I'm excited!!:) )
Update- It was fun while it lasted.... ;)
I also work under the aliases of Anthraxus (From the castle bearing his name) and Aurelius (Golden Boy.)
I'll give quarter to anyone who asks... but if you betray that, don't bother asking a second time!
I enjoy playing the top players, especially Tchichi, Larry, Maven, TK421, Redhot, Rycchus, Slartucker, Witch, and, of course, RavenBlack. I've got a lot to learn from these guys.
I prefer parafc games to keep the cheese down on the ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff combo that gets so popular in the middle of a battle where someone is outclassed and knows it.
Maladroit makes for some cool openings, especially
PSFW
DSFW
I've gotten a lot of good responses about how to handle this opening:
Open SW on one hand to threaten either fear or the counterspell SWWS (Dubber)
Open with PSD_ and then threaten to take away the Ogre or counterspell on turn 2 (RedSpectra and Slartucker)
One that worked recently in a match vs. MadErol
Him:
PSFW
DSFW
Me:
DSFS
SWWS
We maladroited each other on the third turn, which was no problem for him, since he wanted the double Ws anyway. I cast counter on him on turn four, which destroyed his two summons, but forced to also use an S in the other hand. And now I'm ready to go on to fireball or whatever and he's only set up for causes and counters. He'll win anyway. He always does.
My favorite opening in a non-maladroit game is
SPFPSDWW
DSFWSDPP
I hope that if you see it coming you'll counter it, because it makes games too short, especially against new players. |
