Some advices for new players.
Fastest way to master this game can be done via a completing several stages.
1. If you're new to this game, try to play using only these spells as your main ones
DSF

You'll be surprised, but they are enough to reach 1600+ ELO and they are useful everywhere.
If you encounter PWP or PWP spellflow immediately stop and think about FoD. Finger of Death is very reliable win condition, some players (me included) finishes 70% of their won games with FoD. To survive FoD you either want to 1)Disrupt it with mindspells/antispell 2)Mirror it with cw 3) Dispell it (unrecommended, impossible to use with parafod) cDPW. 4)when FoD is played in opening or without the edge in initiative you usually have bizzare defences via blindness/invis/timestops or antispell
Remember that you don't need to finish your spells. If they may be countered you're free to not cast them. This trick is called "faking spells". Fake your spells if you are up in initiative and you'll be rewarded (DPSDP SPSPS).
If you're in hot spot, try to do shotgun counterspelling. Sometimes it works :)
2.When playing according to the previous claim, think about possible nontrivial continuations.
If you happen to have
DF, think about DFW/ DFPW/ DFFDD/ DFFF
PWP, think about Haste
SPFP, think about Permanency/Charm person fork
3. If you are educated enough to finish previous two stages, read about a Warlock combos, there are not many of them

Delay Invis (Delay is uncounterable due to invis, yet dispellable and vulnerable to multiple monsters). Delayed antispell or timestop is huge advantage, compared to 8 health points lead.

Blindness/Permanency (Permanency is uncounterable due to blindness). Usually is played from invis or from DSP/PSD position.

Trick lies in fact that mirror is counterable while FoD isn't. SO if in the same turn you are targetted by mirror and Finger of Death, magic mirror won't help you.

Double antispell. Similar with double charm, provides you uncounterable permanency.
These combos outright win you game (Tali-Fod) or gives your opponent a situation with low surviving chance (double antispell or Blind/Permanency).

4. If you mastered with first three stages and play without mistakes, you must be a 1800+ warlock :).
Now it's time to use that lines which you like. Here warlocks usually play with their own style and favourite finishes.
You can master mass goblin decisive plays (Toyotami), be and invisibility guru (xade) or know lots of haste lines and kill with it (me :) ).
Warlock is nice game, so you may develop an own style.
5. If you're a true master of game, you can win with everything. Know invisibility continuations/Haste continuation, etc.
